Advent starts Wednesday. It has been on my mind for quite a while to rid myself of social media for Lent. I'm a bit scared. I've done Facebook for Lent, blogging for Lent in the past but not it all. I just feel inspired to lately. Would like to experience life as though living a few years ago. Just going to operate with email. No facebook, no blogging, no texting, no Pinterest. I will allow myself on Sundays to have a small break as Lent allows, but I will gauge myself on that day as well.
I think this whole thing ends in April? Right? Easter, that is.
I'm looking forward to it, honestly. I'm sure after I start I will begin to think, "Oh, shit..." but oh, well, I suppose. I will try my best to stick to my guns.
Tomorrow will be my last post for a while, if I do post, I don't know...tomorrow is pretty busy. We'll see.
I will leave you with this inspiration.
Now onto my own project...
3 conversations:
I love it. When I took my much needed time away from Facebook, I didn't miss it, AT ALL. I only went back to open my Pinterest account (True Story). I applaud you for taking time away from "Social" outlets. I haven't decided quite yet what I am going to do. Trusting God will lay something on my heart.
I've totally gotten sucked into the social media stuff too. I think I'm going to need to "unplug" at least something. I like this video, it's true. We're all too "busy" doing things that aren't nearly as significant as being with the ones we are with.
Good for you! The few times in my life that I've been away from social media for an extended amount of time (out of the country, or up at camp, etc.), I felt like my life was so much richer. It's sad that we're all slightly addicted, especially for someone like me who isn't good at keeping in touch! FB, Blogging, etc. keeps me "connected," but I'm not really having any actual connections. :)
I'm eager to hear how it goes!
